ZEUS: The Olympic Horse's Tour of France
February 20, 2024

ZEUS, the iconic metal horse from the Paris 2024 Olympic opening ceremony, continues its journey across France. After captivating audiences at the Château de Versailles, the sculpture is now on display at the Musée des Arts et Métiers in Paris and will appear at the Eiffel Tower in June.

The metal horse that rode down the Seine

during the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics left an indelible mark on the world. At the Château de Versailles, it brought a fitting conclusion to the "Cheval en Majesté" exhibition, which revisited 400 years of equestrian history in Europe.

"It's great that what opened the Olympic Games ceremonies is coming to an end here, in the royal courtyard," enthused the President of the Château de Versailles, Christophe Leribault, as ZEUS took its place in the historic setting. Since then, ZEUS has embarked on an extensive tour of France, captivating audiences from Nantes to Marseille.

Currently on free display at the Musée des Arts et Métiers in Paris through January 2027, ZEUS stands on the museum's forecourt where visitors can experience this iconic sculpture at no cost. Every five minutes, the horse springs into a brief canter, as if the Olympic spirit still runs through it. A companion exhibition inside the museum explores its creation and the craftsmen who brought it to life.

ZEUS will also make an appearance at the Paris Eiffel Jumping at the foot of the Eiffel Tower from June 19–21, 2026, continuing its symbolic journey through France's most iconic locations.
