Professor Ingvar Fredricson Foundation
Founded in 2023, the Professor Ingvar Fredricson Foundation was established to preserve the horse’s cultural heritage and to advance equestrian sport on the horse’s terms.
The foundation promotes the integration of well-proven experience and evidence-based research into equine practice, with a focus on improving horse welfare, sustainability, and performance. It also seeks to highlight the horse’s historical role as a carrier of culture.
Through seminars, clinics, publications, and digital platforms, the foundation works to share scientific knowledge and practical insights across the equine industry.
Each year, it awards a scholarship to individuals or groups who contribute positively to horses and equestrian sport through research, innovation in training and management, or educational initiatives grounded in empirical and scientific evidence.
In addition to the monetary award, Olympian and artist Peder Fredricson presents recipients with a specially crafted statuette.
The foundation will organize seminars and clinics to bring the equestrian community together to address key issues related to horse welfare and to encourage open, constructive dialogue on best practices for equine care in the future.
To preserve and protect the rich heritage of the horse, the foundation is developing a digital archive containing historical documents, photographs, and videos that showcase horses and equestrian sport throughout history.
The archive will also serve as a repository of Ingvar’s extensive knowledge and his many contributions to equestrian sport and equine well-being.
